Biography
Dr Asma Arabi is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the American University of Beirut, division of Endocrinology, and she holds a Master degree in Epidemiology and Population Health. Dr. Arabis major clinical practice and research interests are focused on calcium metabolism, metabolic bone disorders and densitometry. She is an investigator on several osteoporosis multicenter trials and on protocols evaluating the epidemiology of osteoporosis and vitamin D status in Lebanese population. She has over 40 publications on her topics of interest in peer reviewed journals and numerous abstracts presented at highly ranked international scientific meetings. She is certified by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry and serves as a faculty for regional ISCD courses. She also serves as the Editor in Chief of the newsletter of the Lebanese Society for Osteoporosis & Metabolic Disorders (OSTEOS). She is member of the Endocrine Society, the American Society of Bone and Mineral research, the ISCD, the Groupe de Recherche et Informations sur les Ostoporoses (GRIO), The Lebanese Society of Endocrinology Diabetes and Lipids and the Lebanese Society for Osteoporosis & Metabolic Disorders (OSTEOS).
