Biography

Dr. Uzma Khan, MD, FACP has been a faculty member at the University of Missouri-Columbia since 2004 and is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Cosmopolitan International Diabetes and Endocrinology Center. She was the Program Director for the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism. She received her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Missouri- Columbia. In 2004 she finished her fellowship at the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University Of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Her clinical practice includes diabetes, lipid disorders, metabolism, osteoporosis, thyroid disorders and endocrine disorders. Dr. Uzma Khan is the lead facilitator for Show-Me ENDO- ECHO, a project supported by the State of Missouri to enhance self-efficacy of primary care providers taking care of complex endocrine patients. Her research interests include diabetes and thyroid cancer. She is actively involved with Thyca, a volunteer organization for thyroid cancer survivors, and has presented at regional and national meetings.
